DICTIONARY OF COMMON COSMETIC INGREDIENTS IN SKIN CARE (PART 1)

To be able to find a beauty product that suits your skin's needs, understanding the ingredients that make up the product is an important step. Especially, for girls who have sensitive skin and often have cosmetic allergies, looking up and learning about cosmetic ingredients before buying is a must-do.

1. ACAI BERRY

Acai berry is the name given to a type of berry that is high in healthy antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins. In addition, the vitamin E component in this fruit also has the effect of rejuvenating your skin.

2. AHA 

AHA is a chemical exfoliant derived from fruits, milk, sugar and plants, most commonly Glycolic Acid (from sugar cane), Lactic Acid (from milk). When using AHA, the skin will catch the sun. Therefore, do not forget to apply sunscreen if you care for your skin with cosmetics containing AHA.

3. ALOE VERA 

Aloe/Aloe Vera is a miracle drug that reduces inflammation and increases hydration by boosting the skin's moisture levels. This is a natural ingredient derived from the aloe/aloe vera plant. With the ability to gently heal skin problems, Aloe Vera from reputable brands can be applied to even sensitive skin.

4. ADENOSINE 

Adenosine has anti-wrinkle properties, making the skin surface smooth and youthful by providing essential nutrients. It is a yeast-derived ingredient that functions as a good skin-soothing and restorative agent. In addition, Adenosine is a beneficial ingredient used for all skin types.

5. ARBUTIN

This is a natural skin-lightening agent derived from raspberries that helps stop the cells that produce the pigment that darkens the skin. Many studies have shown that Arbutin is a safe and gentler natural skin lightening agent than Hydroquinone.

6. BHA

BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids) are chemical bleaches that can clear blackheads, tighten pores, and soothe skin. Among them, Salicylic Acid and Betaine Salicylate are popular BHAs used to treat acne because of their anti-inflammatory and oil-reducing properties.

BHAs are praised because they not only clear pores, exfoliate dead skin cells and excess oil, but also help minimize wrinkles and boost skin luminosity. BHAs are recommended for people with sensitive skin and want to gently exfoliate.

7. BAMBOO EXTRACT (BAMBOO EXTRACT)

Commonly used in Asia to heal skin ailments, the bamboo extract has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. In addition, this extract also contains antioxidants and is known as a humectant, by providing moisture to the skin.

8. BEE VENOM (BEE VENOM)

Also known as Apitoxin, bee venom is a combination of enzymes, peptides, and amino acids that can reduce the likelihood of wrinkles appearing. This ingredient provides a growth factor to help regenerate skin cells while fighting skin inflammation.

9. BIRCH EXTRACT

10. CERAMIDES

Ceramides are an important ingredient and are present in most skincare products. 11. VITAMIN C

12. CALENDULA

23. GALACTOMYCES FERMENT FILTRATE

24. GREEN TEA

26. GLYCOLIC ACID

27. GUAIAZULENE
